Sick&Wonder | Best Act @ Ara Pacis | Report

Roma, sabato 7 settembre 2013 – “Non c’è nulla di immutabile, tranne l’esigenza di cambiare” Eraclito.
Una bruco viene consegnato nelle mani dei tre finalisti del concorso Rio Cityvision Competition. Di lì a poco si trasformerà in crisalide e poi in farfalla. Sintesi perfetta della dicotomia tra disgusto e meraviglia e di una necessità di cambiamento. Un cambiamento che deve partire da sé stessi. È proprio da questa esigenza quasi naturale di mutazione che, tre anni fa, in maniera del tutto indipendente, CityVision si è proposta come il punto di riferimento per chi volesse rappresentare una visione.

Con un taglio innovativo, una grafica esplosiva e grande entusiasmo, CityVision ha festeggiato ora il suo terzo compleanno con un nuovo importante evento. Una serata eccezionale svoltasi negli spazi del Museo dell’Ara Pacis, che hanno visto Cityvision collaborare con gli amici di NuFactory e il festival internazionale di Urban Art OUTDOOR, per la realizzazione di Sick & Wonder / Best Act.

Ormai ci siamo abituati ai loro numeri, quindi nessuna sorpresa quando, ancora una volta l’auditorium piano piano è stato riempito sino all’ultima fila e sino all’ultimo posto in piedi disponibile: ennesima conferma del successo della serata.

Dopo i saluti di rito e dopo aver presentato il numero speciale di Cityvision Magazine dedicato al tema annuale Sick & Wonder, con un susseguirsi incalzante di grafiche, filmati e immagini oniriche Francesco Lipari, (co-fondatore di CityVision insieme a Vanessa Todaro) ha ripercorso tutte le attività svolte con successo dal laboratorio urbano romano a partire dalla sua nascita fino a giungere all’ultimo concorso internazionale su Rio de Janeiro.

La serata ha visto protagonista l’undicesima edizione del PECHA KUCHA NIGHT ROMA. Blogger, galleristi, opinion maker, architetti, a turno sul palco, ognuno per presentare idee, sogni e progetti davanti a una platea che non ha mai rischiato di annoiarsi, fino a giungere alla cerimonia di premiazione del concorso internazionale di idee Rio Cityvision Competition.

Primo premio del concorso per Donghua Chen dalla Cina con il progetto “Ceu de Janeiro” selezionato, tra i 125 gruppi provenienti da tutti e 5 i continenti da una giuria internazionale d’eccezione composta da Aleandro Zaera-Polo, Jeffrey Inaba, Jeroen Koolhaas, Hernan Diaz Alonso, Pedro Rivera e Cristiano Toraldo Di Francia.

Al termine della serata tutti i partecipanti si sono poi ritrovati nella hall d’ingresso dove, tra un sorso di birra e un’occhiata alle pagine dell’ultimo numero di CityVision, si spera siano nati i semi dell’ennesima nuova mutazione.

Rome, Saturday, September 7, 2013 – “Nothing endures, except for the need to change” Heraclitus.
A caterpillar is given into the hands of the finalists of the Rio Cityvision Competition. Soon it’s going to turn into a chrysalis and then into a butterfly. It will be the perfect synthesis of a dichotomy between sick & wonder and of a need for change. A change that must start from ourself. Moved by this almost natural need for a mutation that, three years ago, totally independently, CityVision has proposed itself as the reference point for those wishing to show off a vision.

With an innovative slant, explosive graphics, and great enthusiasm, CityVision celebrated its third birthday with a new big event. An exceptional night held in the Ara Pacis Museum, which saw Cityvision cooperating with their friends of NuFactory and the International Festival of Urban Art OUTDOOR, to realize Sick & Wonder / Best Act

We had been quite used to their numbers, so no wondering when, once again, little by little, the auditorium was filled to the last row until the last available standing place: yet another confirmation of the success of that night.

After welcoming greetings and presenting the special issue of Cityvision Magazine dedicated to the Sick & Wonder theme, with a series of incisive graphics, movies and dream images Francesco Lipari, (co-founder of CityVision with Vanessa Todaro) has retraced all activities carried out successfully by the Roman urban laboratory from its birth uptil the last international competition about Rio de Janeiro.

The event starred the eleventh edition of the PECHA KUCHA NIGHT ROME. Bloggers, gallery owners, opinion makers, architects, took turns on the stage, each one presenting ideas, dreams and projects to an audience that never get bored, to finally arrive to the Rio Cityvision Competition Awards Ceremony.

The first prize goes to Donghua Chen from China with the project “Ceu de Janeiro” selected among 125 registered groups from all five continents by an exceptional jury panel composed composed by Aleandro Zaera-Polo, Jeffrey Inaba, Jeroen Koolhaas, Hernan Diaz Alonso, Pedro Rivera e Cristiano Toraldo Di Francia.

At the end of the night all the participants were finally meeting in the entrance hall, where, while having sips of beer and a look at the latest issue of CityVision, the seeds of another new mutation hopefully were born.
