A night at Mandrione…

Maybe it was the desire of escaping from political forum or another boring Thursday evening, maybe it was that “super host”, the bear. The desire of running a way from the reality and take shelter into architectural and visionary utopias of the 70′s, so vintage far enough.

Perhaps the huge mass of people made some logistical problems, probably it could be done better, but if this is the start, the 2013 is promising very well.

After a series of events and success, three years from its birth, cityvision has managed to retain a network of professionals, designers and companies around itself, who strongly believe something will be changed.

On 21^th February 2013, more than 400 people attended to the event of Sick & Wonder #1  + HEINEKEN PARTY, This was the sign of the desire for innovation.

The event was organized by Solido 3D studio and took place in such a digital foundry, a new space in Mandrione’s area in Rome.

There couldn’t be any other place more adaptable for the 8^th edition of  PECHA KUCHA NIGHT which saw the participation of various groups of professionals such as Wasp, Fonderia (sweet and design), Frame by Frame, Noocleo and Jenuino. They all were different from each other but they were sharing the same creative spirit.

Those who attended to the event has the honor of listening to a special lecture by Cristiano Toraldo di Francia; He founded the superstudio in 70^th; the group which made the history with it’s avant-garde  utopian and architecture visionary, like Britain’s Archigram.

words, images, visions and feelings transformed the night into a perfect mix which people were expected for. The event was made perfectly by live music , DJ set and the beer which was guaranteed by the sponsor of the event HEINEKEN, Who took the opportunity to lunch the competition of Heineken Future Bottle Design Challenge 2013.

The atmosphere was ultimate also for presenting  new Architectural International Competition of ideas , RIO DE JANEIRO CityVision competition as well as CityVision magazine #8 (literally went like hot cakes). And to satisfy those who want to undertake new training or specialization; The QUASAR Institute launched the proposal 2013 agenda of their courses and master programs. In particular, they announced the start of the master course “Avr – Virtual Architecture”, for which CityVision is responsible for the part of communication and self-management.

At the end of the evening, the contrasting evocations inherent in the title of “Sick & Wonder,” have had the expected impact. Once again, the proposed contents have been able to stimulate the appropriate reflections … minds set in motion to investigate so many forms of the realities around us. But as usual we don’t stop here, we are ready to start again with the upcoming idea , in reality we have already started!

Metti una sera al Mandrione…

Sarà stata la voglia di fuggire dalle tribune politiche o dalla noia di un giovedì sera qualunque, sarà stato il super ospite, la birra, la voglia di evadere da una realtà fin troppo piatta e rifugiarsi nelle utopie architettoniche e visionarie degli anni 70 dal sapore vintage quanto basta.

Forse il grande numero di persone ha creato un po’ di problemi logistici, forse qualcosa si poteva fare meglio, ma se è questa la partenza, il 2013 promette davvero bene.

A tre anni dalla sua nascita e dopo una serie di eventi di successo, CityVision è riuscita a fidelizzare attorno a sé un circuito di professionisti, creativi e aziende che credono fortemente che qualcosa si possa cambiare.

Ed è proprio nel segno di questo bisogno/sogno di innovazione che quasi 400 persone si sono precipitate lo scorso 21 febbraio per Sick & Wonder #1 + HEINEKEN PARTY, evento tenutosi nelle Fonderie digitali, nuovissimo spazio in zona Mandrione a Roma, curato da SOLIDO 3D e inaugurato per l’occasione.

Non poteva esserci uno luogo più adatto per assistere all’ottava edizione del PECHA KUCHA NIGHT che ha visto la partecipazione di gruppi di professionisti di ambiti diversi tra loro, ma accomunati da uno spirito /ingegno creativo e d’avanguardia come Wasp, Fonderia (dolci e design), Frame by Frame, Noocleo e Jenuino. Chi era tra presenti ha avuto l’onore di ascoltare la lecture di Cristiano Toraldo di Francia, membro fondatore di Superstudio, gruppo che, negli anni 70, ha fatto storia con la sua visione utopistica e visionaria dell’architettura al pari degli inglesi Archigram…più avanguardia di così!

Parole e immagini, visioni e stimoli che hanno saputo trasformare la serata nel mix perfetto che tutti i presenti si aspettavano. La musica dal vivo dj set ha fatto il resto insieme a una buona birra garantita dal partner della serata HEINEKEN che ha colto l’occasione per lanciare il concorso Heineken Future Bottle Design Challenge 2013.

L’atmosfera era l’ideale anche per presentare il nuovo Concorso Internazionale d’idee d’architettura RIO DE JANEIRO CITYVISION COMPETITION oltre che il numero otto di CityVision magazine (andato letteralmente a ruba). E per accontentare chi ha voglia di intraprendere nuovi percorsi formativi o specializzarsi, l’ISTITUTO QUASAR ha lanciato il programma dei corsi e il ciclo di master proposti per il 2013. In particolare, è stato annunciato l’inizio del master “Avr – Architettura virtuale” all’interno del quale CityVision cura il modulo didattico di comunicazione e self management.

E nel finale di serata le evocazioni contrastanti insite nel titolo dell’evento “Sick & Wonder”, il disgusto e la meraviglia appunto, hanno sortito l’effetto previsto. Ancora una volta i contenuti proposti hanno saputo stimolare le opportune riflessioni…le menti messe in moto per indagare le tante forme di realtà che ci circondano. Ma come al solito non ci fermiamo qui, siamo già pronti a ripartire con la prossima idea. A dir la verità, la lampadina si è già accesa.
