MATHERY – WARD UP
A fast design project made with cardboard boxes.
Mathery are two young designers that have made this fast project (building time 5h) for CityVision magazine 02 and here we would like to show you the video building istructions.
Almost nothing but a sign,
a perennial fleeting structure
it molds and adapts as required.
A horizontal support is easily recalled;
A guardian if necessary!
The house is our intimate refuge, a place to live and share experiences,
a container of emotions and memories. An environment designed to be customized,
formed according to our needs, trends and changes.
The need for manageable and functional space is a common need,
Ward-Up is a low cost solution, a retractable vertical shelf;
an easy way to create space, thanks to a box of corrugated cardboard,
glue and a clip button for locking.
The existing folds of the box allow Ward-Up to exploit two different sizes,
from the installation’s initial phase and application on the wall in 2D, we jump on a pop-up 3d stage.
The clip button, applied on the wall and at the box’s base, allows a greater adherence
of the vertical 2D support.
Ward-Up is a module;
The combination of multiple boxes refers to the structural scheme of a beehive
in which they create many small cells that offer us the ability to hide items and secrets.
