The Tongue 2

The Tongue 2 is a structure hot weld made of recycled polyester material, floatable and sewn with double needle machine in between the foundation and the vertical structure is made by inner tubes with trapped air. The Tongue project is composed by water foundations that help to obtain a fixed and stable element, avoiding the use of external ballasts and anchorage. With the valve of filling the water is introduced into the base that becomes a walking element thanks to the footboard supported on adaptable structures that manages to be installed on different type of grounds. The sewn is the joining part in between the base and the vertical part of the architectural object. The vertical elements are all hot welded. The elliptical central element gives stability to the projections using tie beams holders and the tensioner knobs guarantee the extension or reduction of the tie beams. The tie beams can be calculated in the number of the different modules joined together or on the different needs. The loops sewn together on the top of the projections give stability to the architectural elements. The elliptical central element is filled of send for about 60 or 70 cm to give stability to the elements. The send can be introduced into the elliptical element using the valve of filling and successively it can be floated creating an inner air portion. On the back side of the vertical structure is set an open portion capable to avoid that the element becomes a sort of sail, caused by the atmospherical agents.

Our project is conceived with the main part called The Tongue Half Size with dimensions of about 25 meter squares of covered area, that becomes The Tongue2 as one modular element joined with a second modular element with a total covered area of about 50 meter squares. We need to consider that it is very easy to float an element of about 6,00m X 2,50m X 4,80m and it takes only a few minutes. The volume of those elements deflated is sensibly reduced. You can fit a structure of about 45 meter squares and 30 kg weight, in a volume of about 1,5 meter cubes. It easy to understand that the transportation becomes rapid and very cheap instead of the transport of the traditional structures, because you can save money for the workers and transport. The Tongue is a project conceived on the easy way to be installed and easy work to be build up and to be built down. The material that we are proposing has the same thickness in all his parts so that it results resistant in all his parts in a homogenous way to contrast the strength possibly applied. The most important technical characteristics are as follows: best way of recycling of the structures that can be reused for many uses, without being maintained. This technology has compressed costs after several uses. The floatable material doesn’t need maintenance. The cleaning of this product and the maintenance after possible holes and tears of the material are easy to do and very cheap. The material used are the best quality, fireproof REI2. The Tongue is composed with different modular plan solutions. The modularity of the architectural object permits to join together each element on the different solution that you want to obtain. There are many way of circulations because there are no ties caused by vertical elements. This is the best way to guarantee the adaptability and the possibility to walk through the plans. It is possible to use the covered spaces to create sitting areas. If you want to personalize the floatable structure, every part of it can be used to insert images, brands, videos. Some graphic elements can be insert by using Velcro or using holding muskets. The floatable structure is a good solution for different exhibition’s needs and the adaptability of the shape to different surroundings is guaranteed by the fact that with the same material and unique colors the structure is always integrated in many areas. The floatable structures are basically used for temporary exhibitions.
