Colonization
Colonization
The bee symbolizes the idea of a pavilion, which is located at starting point and as it progresses, the culture is expanded in a mobile way, this way will colonize the territory of a continuous, and methodology is a fixed pattern:
Arrival – Assembly – Ownership of the site-Interaction with individuals-Closing
This will place in each of the squares, until a total invasion of the island of Sicily. In this way, is shared by all knowledge of various disciplines, in all places where move the pavilion. As a “bee” occur in the honeycomb filled (green hexagons), which are those where the canopy is installed temporarily, with the empty hexagons those that relate to one full academic.
Relationship is maintained both in plan and elevation of the hexagons, which are twinned by their sides. To proceed with inflation of the hexagonal pavilion communicate internally by valves that allow air to pass from one to another, getting the total inflated of the pavilion. The hexagons are related in terms of use required by the flag in each time, generate an inflow of light and ventilation, space for placement of materials, color and subject water to get the flag in various locations.
Flexibility of the Space
Spread KNOWLEDGE
The open space allows the free organization of the seats for reading, as well as free use of the documents. The books will be placed in empty hexagons, at a suitable height for its access and usability.
Spread THOUGHTS
Temporary exhibitions begin with a reflection, which is shared with the public’s thoughts and bases of the author. The pavilion is willing to accommodate what may be the beginning of a debate.
Spread CULTURE
The exhibition is a language by which ideas and visions are shared in public. A tour through the exhibition panels is one way to start thinking about new concepts.
The pavilion is composed of hexagons of two materials: Liquid or air.
+Fluid 01 [water]: it consists of all those elements in contact with the ground as anchor of the pavilion.
+Fluid 02 [soap]: The pavilion is made from 100% recycled polyester derived from recycled plastic bottles, adding a triple layer in some hexagons with 2mm thick at its outer side which will introduce green liquid soap to get different shades of light inside, and uniqueness and slenderness to the outside. With this operation we want to represent those places that have been colonized by the bee.
+Air 01 [inflatable] :is the main structure of the pavilion in addition to the hexagons not colonized by the bee.
+Air 02 [empty t]: The empty holes allow air flow and direct light into the pavilion, and can be used where needed as placement of certain objets such as books, notebooks, etc. Not represent the settlement of the place.
