Venice

With the words taken from the competition it is born the idea to plan a bicycle path along the Grand Canal crossing. The bicycle path winds along the north canal bank and it is built through reinforced concrete piles come out of water. At the borders of them there are some spheres from which some metallic sections start to support the main structure. The bicycle path is made by two steel structures with 9,96 m of length ,one concave and the other one convex, all that it is to have the feeling of travelling over waves.

Both the structures are composed by five tubes with a 5 cm radius,2,49 m wheelbase, all that joined by steel barriers set lengthwise at the oncoming, two at the treading and two at the covering borders.

The lower cross section has a hull shape.

The covering is divided in two sections.

The higher section is made by some photovoltaic panels to produce electric energy and to give e shade area on the boardwalk.

The lower section, instead, is made of transparent glass. Every section is realized with 16 triangular panels, letting cyclists to admire Venice buildings.

I thought to make the treading of wood, exactly of larch, that because for its mechanical features is excellent for this plan.

Every section is composed by 10 tables with 92 cm of length and 8cm of depth and they are 10 cm far one from the other.

At the borders there is a steel side to join the wood tables to the main steel structure.
